The flip-chip's unique decorative design was inspired by the flowering lotus, a symbol of purity and spontaneous generation.
The bamboo used to make the flip-chip is FSC® certified. FSC® is a rigorous system because it requires actual performance against standards, not just on-paper intention. That’s why FSC® is trusted by organizations such as the National Wildlife Federation, World Wildlife Fund, Forest Ethics, Rainforest Alliance, Tropical Forest Trust, and many others. The FSC® chain-of-custody program ensures, through independent auditing, that product claims can be verified from the forest to the customer.
The independent auditor for our FSC® Chain of Custody certification is Bureau Veritas, Founded in 1828, Bureau Veritas is a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC), helping clients meet the growing challenges of quality, safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.
Bamboo farmers and processors must strive towards economic viability, while taking into account the full environmental, social, and operational operational costs of production, and ensuring the investments necessary to maintain the ecological productivity of the forest. This means promoting the development and adoption of environmentally friendly non-chemical methods of pest management and avoiding World Health Organisation Type 1A and 1B chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides; pesticides that are persistent, toxic or whose derivatives remain biologically active and accumulate in the food chain beyond their intended use; as well as any pesticides banned by international agreement.
